Alex Gandy

Alex has been piping since he was 10 years old and has had the good fortune of growing up in a piping family. His first teacher was his father, Bruce Gandy. More recently he’s been receiving piobaireachd tuition from his Godfather, Colin MacLellan. Alex is a world-class piper, wining competitions in Canada, Scotland, and beyond. Presently, he’s the Pipe Major of the Grade 1 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) Pipe Band. Alex continues to play in the competitive circuit, occasionally competing against his father. Come to the Sunday Pipes Concert, and maybe he’ll tell you who won.
