Ulster-Style Sean Nós Step

This workshop will focus on sean nós dancing from Ulster, including reel dancing, clap dancing and Maggie Pickens. Jonathan will demonstrate the rhythmic difference between northern and southern reel dancing, share some of the stories of people from whom he's collected steps and, using archival footage, discuss the many variations and individuality that exist within the unique Ulster dance styles.
