Rebecca will focus on Paidí Bán’s Reel this year: his beautiful, quirky and complex dance. It’s a masterful composition that elaborates on movement themes and surprises with funky visual/rhythmic pairings. Paidí Bán Ó Broin was a Dublin schoolteacher, musician, and dancer; Céline Tubridy learned the dance, and it has made its way into repertoire taught by Michael Tubridy and the Dan Furey dance group.
